Banned Book Week

Yeah. Banned Book week is here/comming up. The dates on all the sites are screwed up. Anyway, here are

1. Scary Stories (Series) by Alvin Schwartz
Ok. These books are creepy. The pictures are creepy. You have no idea how extreme one of the books has made my fear of spiders grow to.

2. Daddy's Roommate by Michael Willhoite
Um, yeah. Sure

3. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings - Maya Angelou
Horribly boring, can't see why anyone would willingly read it in the first place.

4. The Chocolate War - Robert Cormier
Teenager refuses to sell chocolates. He questions authority, therefore the book promotes independence, therefor must be banned. Cormier has good plots, but hate his writing style.

5. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mark Twain
Dispised this book with the very pit of my soul. No point, and horrible plot. Banned for the word nigger. O.K.

6. Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
Hated this one too. No one likes Steinbeck.

7. Harry Potter (series) - J.K. Rowling
Banned for the ammount of innuendos and phallic symbols. Really, vibrating balls? Don't tell me these books aren't perverted.

8. Forever - Judy Blume
One of THE most boring books out there. Makes kinky sex boring.

9. Bridge to Terabithia - Katherine Paterson
Rather sad ending. Pointless book. Title is rather difficult to spell.

10. Alice (series) - Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Just random talk about sex. And phedophiles.

11. Heather has Two Mommies - Leslea Newman
Book promotes lesbian relationships. Therefore, must be banned. Gods how I hate our society.

12. My Brother Sam is Dead - James Lincoln Collier and Christoper Collier
Historical novel. Slight violence. If it's banned for that, I'd like to see wht they have to say about Edgar Allan Poe, where god forbids, people murder each other.

13. The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger
Hated this book. Salinger really need to find something else to write about.

14. The Giver - Lois Lowry
Probably banned for killing infant child. Really good book. Different spin on the concept of a supressed future people.

15. It's Perfectly Normal - Robie Harris
Have never heard of this.

16. Goosebumps (series) - R.L. Stine
Read most of these as a kid. Are rather good if you're under a certain age. Have no idea why they'd be banned.

17. A Day No Pigs Would Die - Robert Newton Peck
Banned for animal slaughter. Might as well go and ban "Charlotte's Web" while you're at it.

18. The Color Purple - Alice Walker
Banned for Lesbian relationship. Again, hate out society.

19. Sex - Madonna
Self explanatory.

20. Earth's Children (series) - Jean M. Auel
Cavemen porn. Go read "Isle of Women" and "Shame of Man" by Piers Anthony while you're at it.

21. The Great Gilly Hopkins - Katherine Paterson
Girl doesn't like foster family. She schemes.

22. A Wrinkle in Time - Madeleine L'Engle
Places God next to Budda and Ghandi. Therefore, out god fearing society must ban this. Have I said that I hate our society?

23. Go Ask Alice - Anonymous
This book is fucking hilarious. I'd laugh to think that it actually happened.

24. Fallen Angles - Walter Dean Myers
Vietnam. People die. Not progressive to society.

25. In the Night Kitchen - Maurice Sendak
Kid has fantasy in a kitchen. No idea why banned.

26. The Stupids (series) - Harry Allard
Horrible books.

27. The Witches - Roald Dahl
Hilarious book. Love Dahl. Probably burned for plots against children, heaven forbid.

28. The New Joy of Gay Sex - Charles Silverstein
Ok. Now this is a good book. But, promotes homosexual relationships, so out with it.

29. Anastasia Krupnik (series) - Loise Lowry
Right. A bit historical, about russians.

30. The Goats - Brock Cole
Never hear of it.

31. Kaffir Boy - Mark Mathabane
Don't remember it.

32. Blubber - Judy Blume
About teenagers who pick on a fat girl named blubber. Shows reality, therefore, must be banned.

33. Killing Mr. Griffin - Lois Duncan
Haha. Banned for kidnapping of a 7th grade teacher. I'd like to hand this to Pedulla

34. Halloween ABC - Eve Merriam
Alludes to satanism, I believe

35. We All Fall Down - Robert Cormier
Again, the Cormier book.

36. Final Exit - Derek Humphry
Havne't heard of this one.

37. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
Utter. Crap.

38. Julie of the Wolves - Jean Craighead George
Very good book back when I was in the 4th grade. Girl survives with wolves. Parents might get beastiality ideas.

39. The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison
Rape, insanity, completely boring. hard to make rape and insanity boring, but somehow, it is.

40. What's Happening to my Body? Book for Girls - by Lynda Madaras
Self explanitory.

41. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
Banned for nigger. Really bad booko, hated it. huh. Guess I hate most American classics.

42. Beloved - Toni Morrison
Tori Morrison is one of THE most boring wirters out there. Worse then Steinbeck.

43. The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton
Everyting that Hinton writes is almost exactly the same. Decent book though.

44. The Pigman - Paul Zindel
Rambling life story of an old man with a beer belly.

45. Bumps in the Night - Harry Allard
Right. I don't get any sexual innuendo from the title. nope. I don't.

46. Deenie - Judy Blume
Story about a young girl with scolosis and having to wear a brace. Banned for the vaguest allusions to mastubation.

47. Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes
Horribly book, horrible movie. Who the hell wants to read this?

48. Annie on my Mind - Nancy Garden
Lesbian relationships.

49. The Boy Who Lost His Face - Louis Sachar
50. Cross Your Fingers, Spit in Your Hat - Alvin Schwartz
Haven't read these two.

51. A Light in the Attic - Shel Silverstein
Right. They ban poetry. Is this the book with 20 people in the same bath tub? Or is that Where the Sidewalk Ends?

52. Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
Lots of sex. bad writing.

53. Sleeping Beauty Trilogy - A.N. Roquelaure
Anne Rice. About machocists. They don't ban the incest novels, but they bad the maachosism?

54. Asking about Sex and Growing Up - Joanna Cole

55. Cujo - Stephen King
And not every other book Stephen King ever wrote? I mean, the Gunslinger series has a child graphically run over by a car. TWICE. THE SAME CHILD.

Victim of child abuse flees abusers. In a giant peach.

57. The Anarchist Cookbook - William Powell
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Have not heard of this, need to get.

Again, the whole sex crap. Honestly, you don't ban the Mayfair Witch Cronicles? Really.

Oh goody. Another Stephen King great. Talks of religion and reality of teenagers. Almost everyone dies in about 100 pages.

Surprisingly, this book was not banned because of Nigger. It was because of Injun. hate Twain.

Talks of religion. Horribly boring in every sense.

86. Always Running - Luis Rodriguez
Remember nothing. It was that boring.

87. Private Parts - Howard Stern
Haha. Howard Stern.

88. Where's Waldo? - Martin Hanford
Hahaha. One book has a naked breast. probably banned for that.

Haven't read these last ones.

It seems like I've gotton thrugh half of these. need to check some of them out. Wayyyyy too many puberty books on the list.
